The Albany City Wind Ensemble is a Concert Band with members ranging from 13 to 84. Its newest member is a 62 year old lady who began playing the tuba two years ago, taking advantage of the band’s instrument borrowing program. Its popular Senior Citizen’s Concert is one of many activities in which the band collaborates with other groups, including the Senior Citizen’s choir, a senior’s accordion group, and a senior ladies tap- dancing troupe. The band is committed to its intergenerational approach to making music and sharing music with all age groups.
