Catch Music2 416wCatch Music is a volunteer run not for profit organisation that create and maintain community spaces where people of all ages and abilities can come together to play music. It began with several people working in the health and disability sectors, seeking a space which was simply about making music together. The program now has ten communities across Perth meeting regularly. “Some of our best and most constant musicians are our over 65’s”, according to Catch Music. Many of the older musicians in the all-ages groups become mentors and are welcomed for their musical experience and “their ability to create an underlying group harmony.” The Catch Music collective have established the program to a level where they have a part time paid coordinator, training for their mentors and facilitators, and weekly music sessions across Perth.
