Location: Campbelltown, NSW

This band was started to provide a daytime instrumental opportunity for members of the community who were unable or unwilling to go out at night to attend rehearsals. The group caters for any instrument and the conductor, a retired school music teacher, adapts parts to suit the abilities of the players.
The group serves two main functions. The first is to maintain a regular daytime activity for the members, some playing in a band for the first time, others like their 86 year old trombonist are returning to playing after a period away from music. The second is to perform in their community, beginning with schools and preschools, with plans to expand their activities.
The Daytones is a sub-group of the Campbelltown-Camden District Band.
