Campbelltown Freddie Hill 403wCampbelltown Arts Centre is a cultural facility in Western Sydney with strong support from Campbelltown City Council and engagement with the local community. In 2007 it partnered with Musica Viva on a two year project to research the benefits of music, singing, rhythm and choral work in groups to improve the mental and physical health of people from the community in the over '55 age bracket. The Arts Centre’s support continues to a point where a resident choir, Sweet Tonic, has been formed as a result of that project and lies at the heart of its music program. From this the centre has collaborated with Opera Australia and presented the “Big Sing” event, conducted by Simon Kenway, with increased participation from the wider community.
