Although neither is specifically designed to be a peak organisation for community music ensembles, we know of two good organisations in the Northern Territory:

Music NT

Music NT supports the growth and development of original contemporary music in the Northern Territory. More info: musicnt.com.au

NT Music School

Music Education Leadership for the Northern Territory

• Instrumental and choral instruction in government schools across the NT
• Territory wide performance programs
• Music education support, consultancy, professional  and curriculum development

Individual Ensembles

Darwin Symphony Orchestra

The only resident symphony orchestra in the Northern Territory, drawing its membership from professional and non-professional musicians in Darwin. The Artistic Director/Conductor is Martin Jarvis, who works with the DSO as part of his role as Associate Profesor in Music at the Northern Territory University. More information:  www.dso.org.au/
